Remember that when you are buying cards, they may or may not work on your motherboard or version of windows. So I have gone back to the PCI card as it gives me both 4 pin and 6 pin connectors. I'll reiterate, without administrator rights enabled on the computer, the ieee1394 card would be found, but no camera detected. Using the default windows drivers, and still having the administrator rights enabled it found my camera and worked fine.
